On Thanksgiving, we reflect on the things we’re most thankful for. So here goes:

We also stuff our faces to the brim with all manner of meats and starches covered in gravy, butter, and cheese to the point you think you just may burst. Well, friends, these cupcakes are worth loosening your belt for.

Oh, hello there. I’ve managed to find my way back after falling off the face of the earth. And by falling off the face of the earth I mean going to burning man, doing cupcakes for a wedding, having an anniversary, doing tons and tons of fun halloween stuff, and THEN doing ANOTHER wedding! *^_^*
I may have stopped blogging for a while, but I have not stopped doing cupcakes. In fact, I’ve been doing so many at times that I didn’t have time to blog about them. Here’s a few pics of what I’ve been up to:
200 Cupcakes and 200 cookies for my friends, Josh and Ryanne for their wedding.
200 Cupcakes, 100 cookies and a grooms cake for my friends, Jeremy and Verity, for their wedding. The cookies and cake were modeled after the grooms guitar and the brides stand-up bass.
I’ll have better pictures of the cupcakes after they were all set up soon. Until then, here are 2 not so great photos of me setting up the cupcakes with my lovely assistant, my husband. *^_^*

Actually, they’re pretty G rated. I made these cupcakes for my friend, Pheobe. She turned 3 this past weekend and she loves pirates. She even had a shirt that said “Girls can be Pirates too” *^_^* Too cute! I made her some pirate cupcakes and mermaid cupcakes.

My friend, Steph, just had a baby. (YAY!) *^_^* For her shower I made cupcakes that look like babies.
Apparently, babies taste like vanilla cupcakes. ;)

Go, Cupcake, Go!
Being from (well, near) Louisville, the Kentucky Derby has always been an unofficial holiday. People start celebrating Thursday night and don’t stop until well after the last horse has crossed the finish line on Saturday. (Our bars are even open until 6am.) So here are some treats for those night when you’ve been out partying and you think to yourself, “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse” How about a horse cupcake instead? *^_^*
*To be completely honest, I didn’t make these for the Derby, but for my friends 3 year old daughter that happened to be born right around the Derby and wanted nothing more than yellow and blue horse cupcakes for her birthday party so the timing worked out. :D Next year maybe I’ll make Derby Pie or Mint Julip flavored horse cupcakes.

Fireworks and Cake go together like….. something awesome and something delicious! *^_^*
Here in Louisville we have a HUGE fireworks festival every year called Thunder Over Louisville. There’s an air show most of the day with a grand finally of tens of thousands of dollars worth of fireworks shooting off of barges and bridges over the Ohio River. Here is my bakery equivalent of this festival:
In the bottom tier of the cupcake carrier are more cupcakes with fireworks decorations. This is probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever made (and just for fun, mind you. It’s not like I’m getting paid to be this silly) I’m not even going to give a play by play for this one because I’d be laughing to hard to type, but I couldn’t not post it. ;) I hope you all enjoy the fruits of my silliness.
